We've been in the middle of an in-town move and reading everyone's comments has been the perfect diversion! Love all of the items! But we can never find a hat big enough for my almost 2 year old that has ties on it. So we would pick the hat!

I recently read about SStein Design's bag and totes on DesignSponge where her amazing Santa Fe home was featured. I am in love with her studio tote. Here's what she has to say about her designs:

My greatest inspiration has been my collection of antique bricklayer’s, carpenter’s and doctor’s bags. Impressed by the sense of purpose and history they all share, and the way in which their materials just get better with age, I set out to try to reproduce this great quality from times past. Fortunately, I was able to find American based companies still producing the kind of materials I was searching for, some established in the late 1880’s, actually run by the heirs of the founding families. My organic cotton and recycled wool felt are both from US companies.

studio bon: TEXTILES

When we were living in Fort Collins, one of our neighbors had two wingback chairs sitting in front of her house with a little sign that read "free." Chris and I ran home, hopped in his old trusty pickup, threw them in the back, drove them home and plopped them in our very sparse living room. They're quite ratty and covered in a hideous old peachy upholstery...and I'm desperate to get them reupholstered...to look exactly like this!

This blog has been a long time coming...I am so excited to finally get this going. Since I had Sylvie in December 2007 I've felt this overwhelming urge to get creative, get crafty, get going. So this is it...and she's off...
